skulduggery (that is anti-first marriage and pro-infidelity), I think this post bears a further hearing. Note especially the quotes at the end. The only changes from the original are the added photo below and a font color change. Ed.]
Assuming all lays out as it appears to be doing - and from all the media reports, respected blog sites, the Vatican, etc. it very well may be - when the Synodal changes come (and are implemented by a cadre of clerics at breakneck speed before too many ordinary pew-sitters have time to think) the Synod will also, by extension (at least in my opinion) need to change a few of those other pesky, nasty and judgmental laws that currently encumber the One True Church and prevent untold millions from embracing the One True Faith (I know, I know...but that's the meme a lot of liberal clerics/Bishops/Cardinals would have us believe...)
At the expense of running afoul of theologians and/or Canon Lawyers, I nonetheless state the following must also occur before full realization of any Synodal changes concerning the Sacrament of Matrimony and the new "Springtime" of the Family can occur (any emphasis below mine):
1. The removal or modification of particular sections of the current Catechism of the Catholic Church:
#133 must remove all wording indicating bullying and be modified to: The Church "
#1735 must be modified to read: Imputability and responsibility for an action can be diminished or even nullified by ignorance, inadvertence, duress, fear, habit, inordinate attachments, and other psychological or social factors or by a Synod of Bishops or Cardinals.
#1767 must be modified to read: "It belongs to the perfection of the moral or human good that REASON be governed by THE PASSIONS."
#1792 currently reads: "Ignorance of Christ and his Gospel, bad example given by others, enslavement to one's passions, assertion of a mistaken notion of autonomy of conscience, rejection of the Church's authority and her teaching, lack of conversion and of charity: these can be at the source of errors of judgment in moral conduct". This one will have to be struck in its entirety, as it will now be in direct conflict with #1767 above.
#2384: Divorce is a grave offense against the natural law. It claims to break the contract, to which the spouses freely consented, to live with each other till death. Divorce does injury to the covenant of salvation, of which sacramental marriage is the sign. Contracting a new union, even if it is recognized by civil law, adds to the gravity of the rupture: the remarried spouse is then in a situation of public and permanent adultery.
#2385: Divorce is immoral also because it introduces disorder into the family and into society. This disorder brings grave harm to the deserted spouse, to children traumatized by the separation of their parents and often torn between them, and because of its contagious effect which makes it truly a plague on society.
The two above just have to go... for, ya know, as long as you are divorced and remarried but in a happy and stable relationship and "luv" one another, it will no longer be immoral to lie to and cheat on your spouse and/or to steal anothers spouse.
2. The removal or modification ( to exclude any reference to or about adulterers) to the first 10 verses of Matthew 19:
"And I say to you, that whosoever shall put away his wife, except it be for fornication, and shall marry another, committeth adultery: and he that shall marry her that is put away, committeth adultery."
Our Lord Jesus Christ (AKA: the SON of GOD!) is certainly NOT VERY NICE! You might even call him a meanie and a bully for using such strong language!
3. The removal or modification of certain sections of the Code of Canon Law:
#1446,S:2 - Whenever the judge perceives some hope of a favorable outcome at the start of litigation or even at any other time, the judge is not to neglect to encourage and assist the parties to collaborate in seeking an equitable solution to the controversy and to indicate to them suitable means to this end, even by using reputable persons for mediation.
As a marriage is already de facto "irremediably broken" by virtue of having a civil divorce (as I was told by my Bishop concerning mine without even having an audience with him to discuss the matter) the above Canons are superfluous. Has any Bishop ever enforced them anyway?
Upon the anticipated effective date of any changes, it will also become unnecessary to have a Catholic Nuptial Mass or even to be married in the presence of a priest (Ecumenism...Hell-lo-oh?? If one religion is as good as the other, why the need for a Catholic priest to make a wedding "catholic" and canonically valid? This could actually now make all SSPX marriages valid in the eyes of the Modern Church!) Besides, two-thirds of the marriage bona - Fidelity and Permanency - will have been already neutered by the Synod. The third - Procreation - has already been neutered due to Catholics using contraception for five decades. The devil/Karl Marx triumvirate victory is/will now be complete!
Sadly, it's damn hard for any sane Catholic not to believe such changes as above are not/will not be forthcoming. But then again, we have been foretold of all that is now upon us:
Our Lady of Akita:
"As I told you, if men do not repent and better themselves, the Father will inflict a terrible punishment on all humanity. It will be a punishment greater than the deluge, such as one will never seen before. Fire will fall from the sky and will wipe out a great part of humanity, the good as well as the bad, sparing neither priests nor faithful. The survivors will find themselves so desolate that they will envy the dead. The only arms which will remain for you will be the Rosary and the Sign left by My Son. Each day recite the prayers of the Rosary. With the Rosary, pray for the Pope, the bishops and priests."
"The work of the devil will infiltrate even into the Church in such a way that one will see cardinals opposing cardinals, bishops against bishops. The priests who venerate me will be scorned and opposed by their confreres...churches and altars sacked; the Church will be full of those who accept compromises and the demon will press many priests and consecrated souls to leave the service of the Lord. [Aren't we seeing this one now: Burke vs Kasper, the FFI, Iraqi Catholic Churches desecrated, Orthodox priests punished by their Bishop for upholding moral laws, etc...? ed.]
"The demon will be especially implacable against souls consecrated to God. The thought of the loss of so many souls is the cause of my sadness. If sins increase in number and gravity, there will be no longer pardon for them"
And from the late Dietrich von Hildebrand:
"One of the most horrifying and widespread diseases in the Church today is the lethargy of the guardians of the Faith of the Church ... who make no use whatever of their authority when it comes to intervening against heretical theologians or priests, or against blasphemous performances of public worship ... but assume a rigorously authoritarian attitude towards those believers who are fighting for orthodoxy, and who are thus doing what the bishops ought to be doing themselves! ... They want to silence the faithful believers who take up the cause of orthodoxy, the very people who should by all rights be the joy of the bishops' hearts, their consolation, a source of strength for overcoming their own lethargy. Instead, these people are regarded as disturbers of the peace. ..." ("The Devastated Vineyard")
Is the Synod's raison d'être just the tip of the iceberg and some/many/all of the above prognostications truly possible? Who's to know, of course, but Our Lord Jesus Christ.
Is this is the first salvo in a one world religion being established? It's a scary thought. But then, so is what's happening now!!
Let us pray that The Holy Ghost will send a tsunami of Grace that will drown the liberal thoughts and ideas emanating from this Synod and will leave the Immutable Truth of Our Faith shining brightly in the new "Springtime" sun the Synod is so desirous to see.
Come, Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of Thy faithful and enkindle in them the fire of Thy love.
V. Send forth Thy Spirit and they shall be created.
R. And Thou shalt renew the face of the earth.
Let us pray. O God, Who didst instruct the hearts of the faithful by the light of the Holy Spirit, grant us in the same Spirit to be truly wise, and ever to rejoice in His consolation. Through Christ our Lord.
V. Emitte Spiritum tuum, et creabuntur.
R. Et renovabis faciem terrae.
Oremus. Deus, qui corda fidelium Sancti Spiritus illustratione docuisti: da nobis in eodem Spiritu recta sapere; et de eius semper consolatione gaudere. Per Christum Dominum nostrum.
