Crystal Balling With BerGOGlio

What is going to happen in the Catholic Church over the next 2-3 years? No one can know for certain, mainly because we don't know how long Jorge BerGOGlio has to live (or who his successor might be). What is certain, however, is that changes will come constantly as long as BerGOGlio is the earthly leader of the Church. We already know this. Just look at the recent Catholic news and you'll see:

  • the German Catholic Hierarchy proposing outright schism, and silence from BerGOGlio's Vatican.
  • BerGOGlio's re-writing of the 6th Commandment, and silence from the Curia and Cardinals.
  • BerGOGlio's continued shellacking of Traditional Catholicism, its ancient practices and the Catholics who embrace it, and silence from the greater majority of Bishops who could have and should have defended them all, despite VII's saintly status within the hierarchy.
  • BerGOGlio's pro-homosexual sermons, interviews, writings and behavior that require priests to reconcile the Catechism of the Catholic Church's teaching to that of the "living" Catechism of BerGOGlio - and do so with a straight face in front of their parishioners.
  • BerGOGlio's brazen worshipping of the Paka-Waka-Mama idol in the very heart of Rome with Cardinals and other clerics - in silence - beside him.

"Trust me!" he says. "Hagan Lio!" he does.

So, how does one reconcile BerGOGlio's God of Surprises, who apparently loves to see homosexuality in His priests, adultery in His children and idol worshipping in His Temple, to the Triune God who punished Sodom and Gomorrah with fire, told Mary Magdalene to cease adultery and banished the idolaters of Mt Sinai to Hell? One cannot, for each is diametrically opposed to the other. So, then, as Catholics, whom are we required to follow when presented with two versions of Truth: God or BerGOGlio?

The answer is written pretty clearly in Revelations (concerning Heaven): "There shall not enter into it any thing defiled, or that worketh abomination or maketh a lie, but they that are written in the book of life of the Lamb."

Sobering words. Remember them well.

It's hard not to believe that BerGOGlio has a tablet at his bedside (a gift from his Masonic & Gay handlers, perhaps) with all of the changes already listed that he will enact. All he need do at the end of each day is to check off what's been accomplished that has accelerated the making of the Roman Catholic Church into just another subsidiary religion under the control of the United Nations. And each day he awakens to another New Dawn, another New Aggiornamento to repeat the process.

But, I here ask, what of that day forthcoming when Bergoglio doesn't awaken from his sleep? What will happen in the days and weeks beyond that event?

The man is already a living-saint to some and I will venture to say that Bergoglio will have a meteoric rise to sainthood. He will be remembered and honored in the hallowed halls of the United Nations, the mosques of Abu Dhabi and the United States House of Representatives (which currently enjoys a majority of his fans in residence). Accolades and joyous choruses will be heard from New Ways Ministry and its pro-homosexual adherent churches (no links), who will also name BerGOGlio as their Patron Saint. And Father James Martin, S.J. will be the Honorary Reader who will present BerGOGlio's eulogy to the masses huddled inside the protected walls of St. Peters.

Sadly, though, as the mourners will be restricted to advance ticket holders, all others, i.e. the smelly sheep of the Amazonians, the boat people of Lampedusa and the marginalized poor of Rome itself, will need to be content with an ear to the Vatican walls. (Sorry folks...space is limited and there is, um...the wall, you know? Heh.Heh.)

So...am I prescient or what?

Merry Christmas to Everyone!

"For a CHILD IS BORN to us, and a son is given to us, and the government is upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called, Wonderful, Counsellor, God the Mighty, the Father of the world to come, the Prince of Peace."

Prayer for Our Government & and Our President

As the impeachment circus comes to a head on this day in the House of Representatives, let us offer this prayer, not only for our country, but for our President. May Our Lord Jesus Christ and his Most Blessed Mother, Patroness of the United States of America, continue to bestow their Graces & blessings upon our country and especially its current President.

Despite his real or perceived failings, Donald John Trump has been one of the best Presidents this country has had in recent memory...I personally place him next to Ronald Reagan, and far ahead of either of the George Bush's. We will have to wait, though, for history to write his actual place among his equals. Ed.

Prayer for Our Government
(and for our President, Ed.)

We pray, O almighty and eternal God, who through Jesus Christ has revealed thy glory to all nations, to preserve the works of your mercy, that your Church, being spread through the whole world, may continue with unchanging faith in the confession of your name.

We pray Thee, who alone are good and holy, to endow with heavenly knowledge, sincere zeal and sanctity of life, our chief bishop, the pope, the vicar of Our Lord Jesus Christ, in the government of his Church; our own bishop, all other bishops, prelates and pastors of the Church; and especially those who are appointed to exercise among us the functions of the holy ministry, and conduct your people into the ways of salvation.

We pray O God of might, wisdom and justice, through whom authority is rightly administered, laws are enacted, and judgment decreed, assist with your Holy Spirit of counsel and fortitude the president of these United States, that his administration may be conducted in righteousness and be eminently useful to your people over whom he presides; by encouraging due respect for virtue and religion; by a faithful execution of the laws in justice and mercy; and by restraining vice and immorality.

Let the light of your divine wisdom direct the deliberations of Congress, and shine forth in all the proceedings and laws framed for our rule and government, so that they may tend to the preservation of peace, the promotion of national happiness, the increase of industry, sobriety and useful knowledge; and may perpetuate to us the blessing of equal liberty.

We pray for his excellency, the governor of this state, for the members of the assembly, for all judges, magistrates, and other officers who are appointed to guard our political welfare, that they may be enabled, by your powerful protection, to discharge the duties of their respective stations with honesty and ability.

We recommend likewise, to your unbounded mercy, all our brethren and fellow citizens throughout the United States, that they may be blessed in the knowledge and sanctified in the observance of your most holy law; that they may be preserved in union, and in that peace which the world cannot give; and after enjoying the blessings of this life, be admitted to those which are eternal.

Finally, we pray to you, O Lord of mercy, to remember the souls of your servants departed, who are gone before us with the sign of faith and repose in the sleep of peace; the souls of our parents, relatives and friends; of those who, when living, were members of this congregation, and particularly of such as are lately deceased; of all benefactors who, by their donations or legacies to this Church, witnessed their zeal for the decency of divine worship and proved their claim to our grateful and charitable remembrance. To these, O Lord, and to all that rest in Christ, grant, we beseech you, a place of refreshment, light and everlasting peace, through the same Jesus Christ, Our Lord and Savior.

Amen.

The Atlantic: The Christian Withdrawal Experiment

The current issue of Atlantic features Saint Marys, Kansas, where I called home from 2002-2017. Though I disagree on some points, I otherwise thought it well balanced (it could just have easily been a "hit" piece) and positive to both Saint Marys and the SSPX. The old adage "home is where the heart is" is, for me, an accurate one: I will always hold many fond memories of Saint Marys and am fortunate it remains just a 3 hour drive away.

The pastor at our SSPX Church in Wichita, is playing the piano in one of the articles photos. In the image below: (L) Father Patrick Rutledge, the parish rector; (C) Fr. Jurgen Wegner, USA District Superior;

The excerpt below is from the article. Clink the link at the end for the full story. Ed.

Photo from the article

Half an hour down the highway from Topeka, Kansas, not far from the geographic center of the United States, sits the town of St. Marys. Like many towns in the region, it is small, quiet, and conservative. Unlike many towns in the region, it is growing. As waves of young people have abandoned the Great Plains in search of economic opportunity, St. Marys has managed to attract families from across the nation. The newcomers have made the radical choice to uproot their lives in pursuit of an ideological sanctuary, a place where they can raise their children according to values no longer common in mainstream America.

St. Marys is home to a chapter of the Society of St. Pius X, or SSPX. Named for the early-20th-century pope who railed against the forces of modernism, the international order of priests was formed in the aftermath of the Second Vatican Council, the Catholic Church’s attempt, in the 1960s, to meet the challenges of contemporary life. Though not fully recognized by the Vatican, the priests of SSPX see themselves as defenders of the true practices of Roman Catholicism, including the traditional Latin Mass, celebrated each day in St. Marys. Perfumed with incense and filled with majestic Latin hymns, the service has an air of formality and grandeur. To most American Catholics under the age of 50, it would be unrecognizable.

Deutsche Nationale Katholische Kirche

(Updated to correct multiple spelling errors. Ed)

https://www.lifesitenews.com/news/german-bishops-proclaim-homosexuality-normal-adultery-not-grave

The German Bishops Conference apparently has begun the nascent steps of breaking from Rome and birthing the Deutsche Nationale Katholische Kirche*, or simply, the DNKK. This news has, apparently, hardly registered with Catholic Bishops or lay Catholics world-wide, let alone those in Germany. It is certainly another sad day for Catholicism, already reeling amid so many other sad days.

Every professed Catholic the world over, excepting those ubiquitous CINO's, should be madder-than-hell over this monumental news. Here we have a renegade group of Bishops, supposedly loyal, firstly, to Christ Himself and, secondly, to Holy Mother Church and its visible Head, the Pope (however bad Frances may be, he is still the Pope) deciding enmasse on Spiritual suicide...and getting away with it! I would have thought that as soon as this story unfolded, a strong condemnation would have been fired off from Santa Marta, reminding these Bishops renegades and Pope Cardinal Marx just who is the Head of this earthly Catholic Church and whom is to follow who. The Pope, as a matter of leadership, should have fired those Bishops renegades who led this schism immediately and appointed caretaker bishops from Africa until new Bishops were named.

But then again: collegiality**

So, apparently, life will go on:
  • the Pope will continue to do what he apparently does best: Nothing.
  • the German Schism will remain in good standing with Rome, but as a fellow Protestant sect.
  • Cardinal Marx will be officially named head of the DNKK on January 3, 2021, the 500th anniversary of Martin Luther's excommunication.
  • Martin Luther himself will be rehabilitated and declared Venerable, Blessed and Saint simultaneously, thus becoming DNKK's protosaint.
  • German Catholics will be forced into making a choice of Christ vs Man; God vs demigods.
  • The Vatican will lose more money from those Catholics who will follow the DNKK into schism.
And finally, Pope Francis, the visible head of the Roman Catholic Church, will welcome the new Pope Marx to Santa Marta as a fellow Pope and Christian. In a show of solidarity with this new and evolving church, Pope Francis will kiss the feet of this newly-mitered ambassador, declaring with reckless abandon that faithful Catholics have yet another path to Salvation outside the Roman Catholic Church. Later in the week, both Popes will concelebrate a Mass of Thanksgiving, thereby cementing this schism as the Will of Christ, and that Roman Catholics are free to attend DNKK churches to fulfill their Catholic Mass and Sacramental obligations.

And the following day, the worst lightning storm in European and Roman history strikes St. Peter's Basilica, shattering its dome beyond repair. Pope Marx immediately notifies Francis the DNKK will provide the funds needed to rebuild & repair St. Peters to a more proper and grander cathedral, worthy of such a humble servant of the World.

Obviously, some of the above is fact, while some is pure conjecture on my part. But even the conjecture portion has some possible - nay, probable - truth buried within the words. The DNKK already is acting like a Church unto themselves at this very moment, so it is simply a matter of time before conjecture becomes possible, then probable, then fact. It may not happen during what may be left of the Francis pontificate, but it could surely happen during a Francis 2.0 one (see here for corroboration of this theory).

To any German Catholic readers of this blog I say this: do not be misled by these renegades and charlatans. They are not acting as a Catholic Bishop should; as true Shepard's of the Church, and certainly not as Apostolic ones. Do not take what they say as Catholic Truth, until it has been verified as such. And in this matter, the German Bishops are diametrically opposed to God, Our Lord Jesus Christ and Church Teaching. No man on earth can add one jot or tittle to the 6th Commandment or change the reason Sodom and Gomorrah were destroyed. To even hint the affirmative is to (1) admit God is fallible and (2) acknowledge a divinity no man on earth can have.

Remember the words of the serpent to Eve: "No, you shall not die the death. For God doth know that in what day soever you shall eat thereof, your eyes shall be opened: and you shall be as Gods, knowing good and evil."

Are not these men making themselves "...as Gods"?

Remember also these words from Matthew: "And fear ye not them that kill the body, and are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him that can destroy both soul and body in hell."

Feast of the Immaculate Conception

(This is from 2014, but it works quite well for 2019 also. As Our Lady is timeless, so can be any writings of Her. She is my Patroness; your Patroness; our country's Patroness. May She ever be so. Ed)

His Holiness Ven. Pope Pius IX
King of Rome(1846 – 1878)

From piustheninth.com:

POPE PIUS IX PROCLAIMS THE DOGMA OF THE IMMACULATE CONCEPTION

On December 8, 1854, having spent all of his holy life – his boyhood, his priesthood, as bishop, cardinal and Pope – at the feet of the Mother of God, the most Blessed Virgin Mary, and having deeply considered also, in his exile at Gaeta, the earnest petitions of Catholics all over the world in its behalf, Pope Pius IX defined ex cathedra, in the glorious Basilica of Saint Peter's before one hundred and seventy bishops and innumerable pilgrims come literally from the ends of the earth, the divine dogma of Our Lady's Immaculate Conception. The voice of the Sovereign Pontiff broke and tears filled his eyes as he paused before uttering the infallible words:

"We declare, pronounce and define that the doctrine which holds that the Blessed Virgin Mary, at the first instant of her conception, by a singular privilege and grace of the Omnipotent God, in virtue of the merits of Jesus Christ, the Savior of mankind, was preserved immaculate from all stain of original sin, has been revealed by God, and therefore should firmly and constantly be believed by all the faithful...."

As the Holy Father finished speaking, the cannon of the Castle of Sant' Angelo boomed and the bells of the basilicas and churches of Rome long rang out the glorious news, which ushered in the Age of Mary – the last age of the world. The Catholic faithful rejoiced, and grace flooded their souls as they prayed the prayer Our Lady herself had given twenty years before to Catherine Laboure, "O Mary, conceived without sin, pray for us who have recourse to thee."

Consecration to the Immaculate Conception

In the presence of God Almighty, Father, Son, and Holy Ghost, and with heaven and earth as our witness, we prostrate ourselves at thy feet, O Mary, Our Lady.

We acknowledge Thee as our Mother, as the Immaculate Conception, living tabernacle of the Divinity, as Queen of angels and of men, as Mother of the Church and of the Catholic priesthood, and as refuge of the afflicted. That is why, small and weak that we are, we wish to consecrate to Thee our Institute, our families, our persons, our works, our future, all that pertains to us and is in us, and which God, in His immeasurable goodness, has entrusted to us for our good use.

We also consecrate to Thee the value of our good actions, past, present, and future, leaving to Thee the entire and full right of disposing of us and all that belongs to us. Mary, be our Mother; sanctify us, purify us, correct us, guide us, pray for us and protect us.

Help us to perfectly fulfill the duties of our state of life. Extinguish in us all self-love, which prevents Thy Divine Son, King and Sovereign Priest, from reigning in and around us.

Cover abundantly with thy maternal protection all the parishes, chapels, schools, works and missions entrusted to the Institute, and mayest Thou forever impede the devil from reigning, in any manner, in this Institute which desires to be entirely Thine for the greater glory of God, the exaltation of our Mother the Holy Catholic Church, and for the conversion of sinners. Amen.

To Flee or To Fight...What Is Right?

The Marquis of Valdegamas-Juan Donoso Cortés

I've used the below quote from the Marquis before as it has been prescient for a variety of reasons concerning things Catholic. And it has become so again...

There has been talk, especially on Social Media, of Catholics who appear to desire leaving the Catholic Church - or that have actually left - because Her current state of affairs is not to their liking (or just because:Francis). Father Z had an excellent post this past week that dealt with this mindset quite well...and quite harshly, as was needed. There is not much more that I can add to Fr. Z's excellent reply but I'm going to anyway as I believe it apropos to the occasionI urge my readers to apply these words to the current conflict raging within each of us, as well as that within Holy Mother Church. We should also all remember that we are Roman Catholics, confirmed in our Faith as foot-soldiers of Christ, and as such, we simply cannot flee in the face of the enemy. More importantly, we cannot seek shelter outside the confines of our Faith...read the quote and you will understand why this must be so.

I hope the words will give Grace, strength and courage to those who may be in need. All emphasis to the original is mine:

"There is no man, let him be aware of it or not, who is not a combatant in this hot contest; no one who does not take an active part in the responsibility of the defeat or victory. The prisoner in his chains and the king on his throne, the poor and the rich, the healthy and the infirm, the wise and the ignorant, the captive and the free, the old man and the child, the civilized and the savage, share equally in the combat. Every word that is pronounced, is either inspired by God or by the world, and necessarily proclaims, implicitly or explicitly, but always clearly, the glory of the one or the triumph of the other. In this singular warfare we all fight through forced enlistment; here the system of substitutes or volunteers finds no place. In it is unknown the exception of sex or age; here no attention is paid to him who says, I am the son of a poor widow; nor to the mother of the paralytic, nor to the wife of the cripple. In this warfare all men born of woman are soldiers.

And don’t tell me you don’t wish to fight; for the moment you tell me that, you are already fighting; nor that you don’t know which side to join, for while you are saying that, you have already joined a side; nor that you wish to remain neutral; for while you are thinking to be so, you are so no longer; nor that you want to be indifferent; for I will laugh at you, because on pronouncing that word you have chosen your party. Don’t tire yourself in seeking a place of security against the chances of war, for you tire yourself in vain; that war is extended as far as space, and prolonged through all time. In eternity alone, the country of the just, can you find rest, because there alone there is no combat. But do not imagine, however, that the gates of eternity shall be opened for you, unless you first show the wounds you bear; those gates are only opened for those who gloriously fought here the battles of the Lord, and were, like the Lord, crucified."

(Essays on Catholicism, Liberalism, and Socialism, 1879.)

For the record, I agree with Fr. Z....stand and fight. We all have as models Our Lord's Blessed Mother, St John and the Holy Women who remained at the foot of His Cross throughout Our Lord's agony...can we do any less while, today, he is being crucified anew?

Statistics. It's All In the Statistics..

photo:marketwatch.com

The Pew Research Center recently released an updated religious landscape report for the US. The results were not surprising in that Christianity has maintained its precipitous decline over the last decade, dropping another 12%. This follows that of Catholics who dropped to 20%, down from 23% in 2009. This recent study, along with those in 2007 and 2014 has shown that religious disaffiliation has continued at an alarming pace, and most likely will continue to do so as the US (and the World) drop further into the abyss of abortion, contraception, homosexuality, transgenderism and legal pedophilia. Many would ask "Why is this so?". I would answer "It's all in the statistics."

Or, simply put: the aggiornamento of Vatican Council II.

Graph from CARA Georgetown University

The late Fr. Peter Carota of Traditional Catholic Priest blog (now administered by Jonathan Byrd) had written a "before & after" post in 2014 of the Church in the USA since Vatican II. The findings then from CARA Georgetown University (see one graph above) are as sobering as the more recent PEW Study. Consider the CARA findings:

  • 1958 Priests:58,000--------------------------> 2013: 38,800
  • 1965 Ordinations:994-------------------------> 2013: 511
  • 1965 Seminarians (graduate level):8,325---> 2013: 3,694
  • 1973 Religious Sisters (world): 1 million----> 2013: 721,935
  • 1965 Sunday Mass attendance: 65%-------> 2013: 24%
  • 1970 Average age of priests: 35-------> 2013: 63

Students in elementary schools also dropped by 1 million and Catholic in-church marriages were only 34%. Sobering statistics all and likely not very well known by the average pewsitter. But be assured they are well known by your bishops and the USCCB, many of whom simply refuse to see the causal root of the problems noted above...they can not or will not name the name and chart a reparative course accordingly.

Of course, we all know that reparative course has to start at the top. Without Peter's authority and direction, the best we can hope for are Traditional Catholic oases in a few dioceses around the US (and the world). Unfortunately, it is now known that Bergoglio is not the Pope that will start the much-needed reparative therapy. And that reason is just as simple: no group of Cardinals or Bishops have so far had the courage to form an imperfect council to force Bergoglio to address his heretical and heterodox positions. He may die without it ever being done and we could very well be saddled with a worse Peter waiting in the shadows. And that, my friends, will be the fault of the red and purple cassocks that simply would not force the issue, especially after such brazen displays by the current Pope of idol worshipping, universalism and ecumenism. Bergoglio is 82 and could live another 10 years for all anyone knows. Can you imagine what the face of Roman Catholicism will look like in another 2, 5, or 8 years under this Pontificate?

My guess is that many more Catholics will become another fallen-away statistic on some future CARA or Pew study.

I will close with these quotes from the Pew study. The impact of each speak for themselves:

  • "Religious “nones” now make up fully one-third of Democrats. And about six-in-ten people who identify with or lean toward the Democratic Party say they attend religious services no more than a few times a year. The ranks of religious “nones” and infrequent churchgoers also are growing within the Republican Party, though they make up smaller shares of Republicans than Democrats."
  • "Christians have declined and “nones” have grown as a share of the adult population in all four major U.S. regions. Catholic losses have been most pronounced in the Northeast, where 36% identified as Catholic in 2009, compared with 27% today."
  • "Catholics no longer constitute a majority of the U.S. Hispanic population. In Pew Research Center RDD surveys conducted in 2018 and 2019, 47% of Hispanics describe themselves as Catholic, down from 57% a decade ago. Meanwhile, the share of Hispanics who say they are religiously unaffiliated is now 23%, up from 15% in 2009."

Thoughts on Trump and Democrats

The Democratic Circus is about to start. Once again, the Democrats will attempt to unseat a sitting President, as they have been doing since November of 2016. They are still reeling from the devastating loss of an election by a woman who will never - ever - be President. The Democratic Party has become a petulant child unwilling to take "NO!" for an answer and to just go back to playing with the toy they already have. Now they find themselves debasing their official offices, the House of Representatives, the Constitution and anything or anyone else that stands in their way of getting to ALL the cookies in the cookie jar. Like the ever-petulant child they are, they have resorted to throwing a Constitution-sized temper-tantrum in order to get their way. No holding their breath until their faces turn blue, no siree...they are going for the jugular in full berserker mode!!

They will not succeed, of course. They have nothing concrete and impeachable to run on, else it would all have been over with by now. Trump would have already resigned, Mike Pence would be the President, Hillary Clinton would still NOT be President and Nancy Pelosi would have more feathers surrounding her already frail body that she could preen daily in front of the cameras. And Adam Schiff would go back to being what he has always been (whatever that is, but it certainly is NOT as "The Honorable Mr...").

And then there's the Senate to consider, also. I know the Republican majority is slim, but despite repeated posturing by some Republicans, few will actually vote for impeachment. Only those whose seats are politically secure would even chance endangering their reelection in 2020. Those in less secure settings won't chance angering their voters - Trump voters - and will wiggle and squirm accordingly, but will toe the line in the end.

You know what I would do were I Donald John Trump having endured all the lies, deceits, attacks - both personal and familial - and negativity that has spanned the 3 years since my election? I would go on National TV and place before the American people my case, defend my innocence, denounce the anarchists trying to overthrow the Constitutional process and remind the people how much I love and admire them and our country. And then tell them:

"I'm outta here. If you truly want the Democrats in charge, you can have them. I don't need the headaches and constant strain upon my family. And I certainly don't need these assholes trying to railroad me into oblivion. So...you can have them; their socialist ideas; their anti-gun and anti-life policies; their hatred of America. I don't need it. I don't need the money. I don't need any of this. See ya!"

But...I am not Donald John Trump. The real one is doing what is best for his Country, his Office and his Honor: fighting the bastards who are trying to overthrow a valid US election and get Hillary Clinton in the White House in 2020 (however unlikely that most certainly is). I applaud and support him in this, even though I have some major disagreements with certain of his policies. What is happening to him and to the Presidency is unprecedented, unjust, unConstitutional and is doomed to failure. The saving grace in it all is that it will forever cement the unworthiness of Democrats to hold any office higher than House or Senate Page. They are not honorable men and women, as this debacle markedly shows, and they will suffer for it at the polls and for a long time hence.

Some will say my thoughts and views are naive. It may well be so, but the gross miscarriage of justice presently being carried on in the hallowed halls of Congress is enough to make me believe otherwise. Even if man himself does not see this, the God in Heaven does. If ever a man on earth deserved immediate Heavenly support, such a man is Donald John Trump. He is as close to a Catholic President as we have had in a very long time, and by that I mean his thoughts, words and actions of his vision for a strong country mirrors those of Catholic teachings (I said Catholic, not modernist). Every Catholic should be supporting him in fighting the injustice about to be inflicted upon him, regardless of their party affiliation. Many won't, but they should.

I am certain, however, that DJT has some very Powerful Allies that will watch over and protect him as he prepares for war. Let us bolster his defenses by prayers and Rosaries on his behalf to his Heavenly Guardians.

Feast of Christ the King

The below prayer & photo is from the latest post by Ann Barnhardt. It is a slight variation to the same prayer that I have taped to my monitor stand and say every day at work. I recommend all do likewise, wherever possible. Ed

                             ****************************************************

O Jesus Christ, I acknowledge You as Universal King. All that has been made has been created for You. Exercise all Your rights over me. I renew my Baptismal Vows. I renounce Satan, his pomps and his works; I promise to live as a good Christian. And, in particular do I pledge myself to labor, to the best of my ability, for the triumph of the rights of God and of Your Church. Divine Heart of Jesus, to You do I offer my poor services, laboring that all hearts may acknowledge Your sacred kingship, and that thus the reign of Your peace be established throughout the whole universe. Amen.

REPOST: Guardians of the Gate

Just so we Catholics don't forget who we truly are, I repost this a second time in light of the recent pagan rituals defiling the Sacred Temples within the Vatican Walls. Ed.

                                      ***********************************

The above is who - and what - we Roman Catholics are. Silent sentinels, grabbing a short rest after a lengthy battle, ever ready to again raise our sword on short notice against any who dare try to breach our walls. We remain at our post, standing in defense of all that lays beyond the doorway, seemingly inert but with ears attuned to the winds around us.

This is our Catholic lot. This is what our Godparents promised in our name at our Baptism. This is why we were Confirmed as Soldiers of Christ. This is what we vowed at our Nuptial Mass. This is what wives and children expect of their husbands and Fathers - and what some Mothers must do in his stead. This is what the Cristeros did, as did their Vendean brothers and sisters before them.

These are the Faithful spouses, guarding the door to homes long abandoned by their once-thought lifelong mate; these are the Cardinal Burke's; the Athanasius Schneider's; the Bernard Fellay's. These are the likes of Sts. Thomas More and John Fisher, of Sts. Edmond Campion and Margaret Clitherow. These are the Mundabor's and the Rorate Caeli's; the Misses Barnhardt and White, as well as The Remnant and The Catholic Family News. There are others, if one cares to look - they hide in plain site.

Who guard not to keep all others out, but to keep out only those who would fain to see harm done to those within the sacred walls. Who fight not to overthrow those in earthly authority, but to preserve that which has been bequeathed by the rightful King of both Heaven and earth.

We are members of the One, Holy, Catholic and Apostolic Church, founded by Christ to bring all men to their eternal Salvation. Do not try to make of us anything besides that which Christ Himself ordained from all Eternity, or we will fight. Do not tell us we can now subvert our Faith in countless ways and still attain Heaven, or we will vomit you out of our mouths. Do not think that the wearing of white, purple or red assures our submission to your heretical or heterodox words, for we will bathe your darkness with 2,000 years of The Way, The Truth and The Light. Know that we cannot - and will not - walk where your path leads. We are sheep, but we can not - and will not - let ourselves be led astray by wolves.

Why?

Simple...

We. are. Roman. Catholics.

On Truth...

*(NB: updated to add clarity to a statement)

"An error which is not resisted is approved; a truth which is not defended is suppressed..." (Pope Felix III, Quoted by Leo XIII in Inimica Vis, 1892)

I'm not a prolific blog writer. My limitations of time, education, knowledge and moxie leave me content to write when I can, as well as I can and as often as I can. Which is all any one person can do to defend Catholic Truth - the objective, Christ-centered version and NOT the subjective, modernist one. Unfortunately, the latter pretty much is what passes for Catholicism today. Now, even God's Commandments can be interpreted subjectively... and it's just perfectly fine, doncha know, cuz Jesus is your Friend and wants all dogs to go to heaven, just like YOU will, regardless of your earthly lifestyle cuz you were SUCH a nice person and died saying "Jesus"!

Ahem...sorry.

Truth is such a rare commodity these days, with some people having obvious trouble spelling the word while others have equal trouble defining its meaning. We've gone from Pilates' derisive "What is truth?" to some internecine definition relative to each individuals particular whim and fancy: homosexuality is good and holy; climate change will end the world in 5...4...3; Pope Francis is not a heretic; etc. Even though moral, spiritual or scientific facts have proven objective truth, still we try and make truth sweet and palatable for, as Flannery O’Connor reminded us,“The truth doesn’t change according to our ability to stomach it".

Or, to put it more bluntly:Truth hurts!

Which is why the current standard for truth - to make it the more easily digestible for Catholics without it hurting so much - is to reshape it into something it is not - relative. Whether it's done on a moral, spiritual or doctrinal level, making truth relative, arbitrary and subjective for the pewsitters simply feeds their "feel good" genes, which in turn feeds their money into the parish collection basket, which then feeds the Chancery, the Vatican, its numerous and nefarious many-tentacled dicastries and ultimately, the Papacy.

Feed the hunger and the hunger will return to you what you want!!

Primarily, all the above pablum is the natural son of a "feel-good", 1960's mother called Vatican II, yet it's also the bastard son of each Catholic that has embraced it since, especially now in this current Francis era. As I have said on previous occasions, we Catholics are a bunch of lemmings willingly going over a cliff, and to which I will now add: while the Bishops are glad-handing each of us as we fall. We are lemmings because we take as Truth all that we are fed, even though we know - WE KNOW! - that certain items are NOT THE TRUTH! To wit:

- homosexual relationships are good and holy, even though the Bible - the revealed Word of God - says otherwise. Read: Sodom and Gomorrah.

- adultery can be good and holy and therefore can allow an adulterous couple to receive the Body and Blood of Christ worthily, even though God Himself said to us "Thou shalt not commit adultery." As the Baltimore Catechism taught us: "God enlightened and moved [men] to write all those things, and only those things, that He wished to be written" (emphasis mine). He did not leave us an open-ended statement, but a clear and concise one. Accept it, fellow lemmings. God has already spoken on the matter. There are no sub-sets to the 6th Commandment that will ever make adultery licit.

- currently, we have seen idol worshipping within the sacred walls of the Vatican, presided over by the Pope, numerous Cardinals, and other (c)atholic religious. Permit me a direct quote from God on this travesty:
"I am the Lord thy God, who brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage. Thou shalt not have strange gods before me. Thou shalt not make to thyself a graven thing, nor the likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or in the earth beneath, nor of those things that are in the waters under the earth. Thou shalt not adore them, nor serve them..."

And if you believe that God left this open-ended, here is the final portion of his statement:

"I am the Lord thy God, mighty, jealous, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children, unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me..." (my emphasis).

Isn't it obvious that many clerics - from the top Papal one down to the lowliest of Bishops - already hate God by offering public worship to idols within His Temple?

Get ready, fellow Catholics...His [God's] chastisement is coming.

We were all created with Free Will. Our Lord leaves to us the choice to love or to hate the Creator. To that I will add: indifference. Which more than likely will lead those who are indifferent into hearing these words of their Creator:

"But because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold, nor hot, I will begin to vomit thee out of my mouth..."

We should also - especially now - remember the one Gift all receive from the Holy Ghost at our confirmations: Fear of the Lord, which is that "...chaste fear whereby we revere God and avoid separating ourselves from him".

We Catholics need to wake up not only ourselves but our Catholic Faith also, and before it becomes too late.

"Can a Mother Be Without Tenderness..."

In the case of abortion, yes...

Calvary Cemetery, Wichita, Kansas

Their silent voices heard by none; cold; uncaring; unloved; alone.
Crying, their Angel Guardians carry them Home.

Before the face of their Father, with tenderness, are they placed,
The pain of their death now overtaken, by Grace.

Such Tenderness! Such Love! Now do they see,
In the eyes of their Savior, what should have been Thee.

Now only He will behold them full grown,
And bestow upon them rewards that were stole.

By the one who was made, to bring them to life,
But, willingly, did forfeit that God-given right.

'Do you forgive?' each one shall be asked,
'This creature, this woman, this One I did task?'

'Oh, Yes, Dearest Savior! There can be no other,
that ever will we Love and Pray for:

For She Is Our Mother!'

For Children of Divorce...

This post is for those whose innocent lives have been upended by divorce through no fault of their own: children. They are undeserving of the harm inflicted upon them, but, even they must eventually travel Forgiveness Highway for any healing to have a chance at taking root.

Below the picture is an email that I received today from Dr. Gary Chapman, the author of The 5 Love Languages® book (a very good read for all spouses and well worth your time. There is a children's version as well). The emphases are all mine, although the email carries its own weight and begs each - spouse, parent or child - to stand and deliver. The conclusion is also remarkably very Catholic in its essence. Ed.

"Have you ever struggled to forgive someone who has wronged you? If so, you are not alone. But if your intention is to remove the barrier and begin the process of restoring the relationship with that person, a sincere apology must be offered and forgiveness extended.
One might say, "I don't feel like forgiving." The truth is, not many of us do. What we need to know, though, is this: forgiveness is not a feeling. It's a decision to offer grace instead of demanding justice.
When it comes to forgiveness however, there are a lot of misconceptions that muddy the process. To better understand forgiveness, here are four things forgiveness DOES NOT do:
  1. Forgiveness does not wipe our memory.
  2. Forgiveness does not remove all the consequences of wrongdoing.
  3. Forgiveness does not rebuild trust.
  4. Forgiveness does not always result in reconciliation.
I write more about these in my book, Things I Wish I'd Known Before We Got Married. However, as I mentioned in the beginning of my email, one thing forgiveness does do: removes barriers. If we choose not to forgive, then the barrier remains, and the relationship continues to be estranged. Time alone will not heal the relationship. Healing requires the decision to forgive. And forgiveness opens the door to the possibility of growth."

On Cohesion and Loss

Look Thou upon me, and have mercy on me, O Lord, for I am alone and poor. See my abjection and my labor, and forgive me all my sins, O my God. (Ps. XXIV.) To Thee, O Lord, have I lifted up my soul. In Thee, O my God, I put my trust, let me not be ashamed. (Introit from the 3rd Sunday After Pentecost)

We have a Pope. We have Cardinals. We have Bishops and Priests. We have the Faithful.

Pope Francis seems to operate daily in direct opposition to the words of Our Lord Jesus Christ. The gang of Cardinals that are his advisors apparently nod in acknowledgement to all that he vocalizes or writes, whether heretical or not. Many Bishops toe the line and pass on what comes down from above so as to not rock their gilded thrones. They are the captains that lead the Faithful to believe what was once black is now white (mortal sin); what was once true is now false (adultery); what was once sacred is now profane (the Traditional Latin Mass). And then there are priests who take it all as license to adapt and conform themselves and/or the liturgy into what their pewsitters want (engagement), and not what is truly needed (solid Catholicism).

This has all come at a seemingly exponential pace (since 2013, at least) and as each old building block falls, a new one is quickly - and at times, quietly - put into its place. And the Faithful just keep clapping and shake their heads "Yes!" "Yes!" "Yes!"

And I just keep wondering "Why?" "Why?" "Why?"

Answer: it is easy for the leaders of the Catholic Church - whether priest, Bishop or Pope - to promote "change" when it has so obviously willing accomplices in the pews. Catholicism is so much easier now that it has a modern twist to it all.

Gone are the days when a Catholic high school student finds a need to explain to a Protestant friend why Catholicism is the One True Faith: we now have Ecumenism to render such a discussion moot .

Gone are the days when adultery or cohabitation was still grievously sinful: now one can have a loving, duplicitous relationship and still be friends with Christ, who undoubtedly will be smiling down upon such a "loving" couple. And, if a priest or Bishop dare try to enforce Canon 951, shame will be weaponized and used to punish the good and reward the bad (remember: what was once black is now white; what was once True is now False.)

Gone are the days when just about every Catholic commentator, writer or Theologian would be on the same page when it came to defending a particular teaching or dogma of the Catholic Faith (there will always be dissenters, sadly). Now we find many of the above defending their various personal interpretation of the latest Roman interpretation of the ancient traditional practice of (you name it here). Worse, they may castigate those who digress from their interpretation.  The cohesion amongst the Faithful that was once Roman Catholicism is now gone, yet another victim of the ambiguity that is Vatican II.

The Catholic Faithful, however, are losers of more than just cohesion. They have also lost their wisdom; their understanding; their counsel; their fortitude; their knowledge; their piety; their Fear of the Lord.

They have lost the Gifts bequeathed to them at their Confirmation.

They have lost Third Person of the Blessed Trinity.
